Arizona Salaries: See which Phoenix, Maricopa County workers make $100K+

More than 1,200 publicly-funded workers in the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County are pulling in six-figure salaries, according to the most recent information available online and supplied to ABC15 after a public records request. 

According to data from the City of Phoenix for 2016, city manager Edward Zuercher makes the highest salary at $314,999. The data provided by Maricopa County shows county medical director Jeffrey Alvarez is the highest-paid county worker at $252,928 annually.

Eight of the 10 highest paid positions are medical related. In fact, 12 of the top 50 salaries held the title of medical examiner, a position for which Maricopa County is actively recruiting.  There's a shortage of qualified individuals applying for these public service jobs. 

Other notable yearly salaries: Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone $100,000; Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams $198,000; Fire Chief Kara Kalkbrenner $185,000.
