A West Phoenix woman is accused of withdrawing money from an elderly man's bank accounts and setting up utilities for herself in his name.

Court records report that 41-year-old Doreen Marks withdrew a total of $2,700 from the victim's bank accounts on four different occasions from late April to late May.

The victim, police say, is a 77-year-old man who is deaf in both ears.

Marks also allegedly set up accounts in the victims' name with Salt River Project and the City of Phoenix for power and water services in the home she is renting.

On May 28 at that home, near 81st Avenue and Indian School Road, Marks was arrested. Police say they also found two Kohl's charge cards belonging to the victim in her possession.

Marks has been charged with fraudulent schemes and theft.
