A man out on probation perhaps needs a reminder of parts of the Ten Commandments after police say he was caught stealing from a church donation box.

Scottsdale police report that on September 11 officers were called to Saint Daniel's Catholic Church, near Hayden and McDowell Roads. The priest there reportedly told them a man, later identified as 52-year-old Michael Walker, had been caught stealing from one of the church's locked donation boxes.

Court documents indicate the priest also informed police that Walker had been visiting the church for years and suspected that he was stealing from the boxes.

The priest reviewed surveillance video, which reportedly shows Walker stealing from the boxes. When questioned by police, Walker had $27 in his pocket and burglary tools consisting of metal wires with two-sided duct tape wrapped around the ends.

Walker is already on probation until November of 2016 for another burglary and has 14 prior burglary convictions in six states.

He's been charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.
