A woman was assisting a man in a wheelchair when he grabbed her and cut her with a knife.

Phoenix Police report that about 10 p.m. on October 4, a woman was helping 60-year-old Robert William Dawson as they got off a bus, near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

As she was pushing his wheelchair, they turned into a parking lot where Dawson allegedly grabbed her pants and tried to pull them down. As the woman tried to pull away, Dawson grabbed her arm and demanded that she pull her pants down.

When she refused, Dawson reportedly pulled out a knife and cut the woman on her forearm. The victim was able to get away and call the police as Dawson left.

Police located the knife and arrested Dawson at a nearby bus stop.

Dawson, who has numerous prior convictions, has been charged with aggravated assault and unlawful imprisonment.
