PD: Man beats roommate with pipe, steals car

A Phoenix man suspected of beating his roommate with a metal pipe was taken into custody last weekend after leading police on a multi-city chase.

Twenty-three-year-old Nickolas Anthony Peltier is accused of hitting his roommate in the head with the pipe on March 13 fracturing the victim's skill, according to court documents.

Police said in their report that the victim is not expected to survive.

The suspect's mother found the victim on the floor unconscious and bleeding at a home near 57th Avenue and Indian School Road. The mother lives with Peltier and the roommate.

Peltier reportedly told his mother that the victim was going to kill her before taking her car and driving away.

Officers located Peltier in the car the next day in Scottsdale near Scottsdale and Indian School roads where he led police on a pursuit through Scottsdale, Tempe and Chandler, where it eventually ended.

The suspect was arrested did not speak to police. He was booked into jail on charges of theft and aggravated assault.
