A Mesa man posted an online ad asking for sex and once again it turned out to be an officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.
This arrest was part of "Operation Home Schooled." A Mesa police undercover operation that busted ten suspects ranging in age from 23 to 66, including 52-year-old Kelly Todd Davis.
Court records show that on November 15, Davis showed up with condoms and energy drinks to have sex with a girl he believed to be 14. Instead, he met Mesa police.
Police report that Davis posted an online ad that was responded to by a Mesa police officer posing as "Ali" a 14-year-old girl.
Police say during their e-mail conversations, Davis reportedly sent lewd photos to "Ali." They set up to meet each other after Davis got off work. He agreed to bring her condoms and orange-flavored energy drinks.
Davis allegedly entered a home near Stapley Drive and Broadway Road carrying the condoms and drinks.
He was arrested and has been charged with attempted sexual conduct with a minor and furnishing obscene material to a minor.
Mesa police say the operation was done with the assistance of 'Operation Underground Railroad' and is a "continuing effort to remove these predators from our community."
