A man is facing damage and trespassing charges after allegedly breaking into an Ahwatukee home through a children's bedroom.

Police report that around 2 a.m. Sunday, a man, later identified as 20-year-old Marlan Martin, broke an upstairs bedroom door to enter the home.

The second story apartment is located near 48th Street and Knox Road.

Police say Martin entered the children’s room while they were sleeping by breaking the door in half. When Martin was confronted by one of the children he reportedly said, "they were coming for him and that he had to go."

When officers arrived, they say Martin was not compliant and had to be removed from the home at gunpoint.

Martin has been charged with criminal damage and criminal trespassing.
