A Chandler man is accused of sending sexually explicit texts to the preteen daughter of a family friend.

Court records show that on October 16, police were called by family near Val Vista Drive and Hunt Highway who told them that a family friend had been sending sexually explicit text messages to their preteen daughter.

Police say that they were shown text messages from 54-year-old Douglas Wayne McDonald to a preteen girl. In the messages, McDonald would ask about her clothing and discussed sexually focused intentions. The girl alerted her mother who contacted police.

Police say McDonald initially sent similar messages to the girl's mother where he reportedly talked of orgies and bondage. After being told to stop, McDonald allegedly focused his texts on the girl.

McDonald was arrested on November 3 and is facing charges of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

McDonald allegedly admitted to police that he sent the messages knowing the girl's age. He said he stopped sending the messages after the girl called him "creepy".
