SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A woman turned herself in to police after stealing a $30,000 painting from her employer.

On December 29, Lynn Kayla Hash, 28, turned herself in to Scottsdale police, allegedly admitting she stole a painting appraised at $30,000.

The painting, titled "Piquant Girl," was created by Milton Avery in 1955.

The painting was being stored by Hash's employer, Art Solutions, near Hayden Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.

In October, the painting's owner requested the artwork be delivered to her new home. It was then that the painting was discovered missing.

Police say a few days after management informed employees of the stolen painting, Hash resigned from her job.

Her employer discovered that Hash has used her work computer to inquire about the value of the painting.

Police say a co-worker reportedly confronted Hash about the theft and recovered the painting.

Hash has been charged with theft.
