PHOENIX — A witness followed and alerted police to a wrong way driver in north Phoenix.

Phoenix police report that on April 22, a truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of 43rd Avenue near Dunlap Road.

A witness called police and followed the car, driven by 40-year-old Omar David Amador.

Police say they located the truck a couple of miles away, still swerving from lane to lane.

Upon his arrest, Amador allegedly admitted to having six to eight beers just before getting behind the wheel at 59th Avenue and Indian School Road.

A breathalyzer test registered Amador's B.A.C. level at .271, more than three times the legal limit.

He's been charged with aggravated DUI.
