Officials have arrested three suspects after a carjacking and hatchet incident in Mesa.

Court records show that on October 27, around 3:30 a.m. Mesa police got a call regarding a carjacking near Broadway and Dobson Roads, where one victim was struck by a hatchet.

Police report that three suspects; Irineo Salgado, 21, Blanco Luis Marquez, 22, and 18-year-old Stephanie Danielle Shadowens, were seen leaving the area in the victim's car.

One of the victims was able to use their cell phone locator to help police locate the vehicle once it stopped.

Police say they found the car near Alma School and Baseline Roads. All three suspects ran as police approached, but were quickly detained.

Police say Marquez was found to have a victims' wallet in his pocket, while Shadowens was wearing another victims' sweater. Witnesses reportedly told police that it was Salgado who approached the car with a hatchet in each hand and that he struck one of the victims' in the ribs with the hatchet.

All three have been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and car theft.
