A teenage couple is accused of beating a woman in Tempe before taking off in her car.

Tempe police report that on June 17 they arrested 19-year-old Keshawn Rose and 18-year-old Tonisha Walker in the tunnel near I-10 and 7th Avenue.

Police say the victim was outside her parked Lincoln MKZ sedan at Mill Avenue and University Drive when the couple approached her and asked for money.

After she gave them $1 Rose allegedly told her, "You need to give me your keys." When the victim tried to walk away she was blocked in by Walker.

Rose then allegedly punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, the police report said. As Walker took her purse and keys, Rose reportedly struck her three more times in the face and head.

The couple then left in the stolen car and were spotted by Tempe police, who attempted to stop the vehicle at Interstate 10 and 3rd street.

Rose reportedly then took off at a high rate of speed. Multiple Tempe police units then stopped the car near 7th Avenue.

Police say Rose had bloodied hands, and police found items in the car belonging to the victim — including the $1 bill she gave them.

Rose and Walker, who reportedly have multiple arrests in other states, have been charged with aggravated robbery, car theft, and unlawful flight.
