A juvenile car thief suspect was arrested after the owner located his truck with the suspect in it.

Phoenix Police report that on Tuesday, a car thief victim discovered his stolen truck in the area of 30th Avenue and Buckeye Road. He followed the truck until the suspect parked and got out of the vehicle.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect came after the victim with a knife held over his head. The victim got into his vehicle and backed away. The suspect then fled on foot.

The victim was able to flag down an officer in the area who found the suspect hiding underneath a vehicle and arrested him.

Police say the suspect absconded from the Adobe Mountain Juvenile facility in North Phoenix and has an arrest warrant for car theft.

He will now face an additional charge of aggravated assault.
