If Linda Renee Lewis was a caregiver in your home, you might want to check your jewelry box.

Scottsdale Police report that on March 7 they arrested 59-year-old Linda Renee Lewis for theft and trafficking stolen property.

They say Lewis was working at a home near 96th Street and Cactus Road when she was seen in the master bedroom closet.

Police say the homeowner later noticed that her gold diamond ring, valued at $1,500, was missing. Lewis denied to her employer that she took the ring, but later quit her job.

Police located the ring at a Phoenix pawn shop. Pawn shop records identified Lewis as the person who pawned the ring for $180.

Police say Lewis has, "an extensive history of pawning jewelry."

Upon her arrest, Lewis reportedly told police that she pawned the ring to pay her power bill.

She also allegedly admitted to stealing jewelry from other customers.
