A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a west Phoenix park by a 16-year-old Facebook friend last week, police say.
Phoenix police report that the incident happened on September 19 around 3 p.m. at Desert West Park near 65th Avenue and Thomas Road.
The 7th-grade girl was Facebook friends with the boy and met him at the park. They sat on a park bench and started kissing. However, later, police say, the suspect got behind the victim and forced her to bend over, "slamming her head on the bench."
The girl started to scream as he sexually assaulted her, but the suspect covered her mouth and pointed a gun at her head.
The suspect was located and arrested three days later.
He has been charged in juvenile court with kidnapping and sexual conduct with a minor.
