PHOENIX — Phoenix police report that on November 7 at about 11 a.m., a man, later identified as Marcos DeJesus, 33, knocked on the door of a home in South Phoenix near 7th Street and Roeser Road.

The woman in the home did not recognize him, so she didn't open the door. Police say DeJesus then kicked the door open, and the victim reportedly ran upstairs to call the police.

Court records show that DeJesus ran upstairs, kicked in the bedroom door and took the woman's phone.

Police say he then filled two backpacks with stolen items, but was caught in the living room before leaving.

DeJesus allegedly took $4,500 worth of jewelry, purses, and electronic equipment.

He admitted to stealing the items, saying he had a drug problem, according to police.

He has been charged with robbery and burglary.
