A family friend has been accused of molesting two children 18 years ago.
Phoenix police report that on April 20 they arrested 42-year-old Noe Tomas Avelino-Benitez near 19th Avenue and Bell Road.
Police say an adult female and male came forward recently, giving police similar accounts to molestations that happened to them at the hands of Benítez.
Both said the incidents happened at an apartment complex near 16th Street and Northern Avenue. They were both about 5-6 years old at the time.
The man reported that Benítez lured him into a bedroom to watch an animated movie, before molesting him.
He also stated to police that this happened about 5-6 times.
Upon his arrest, Benitez allegedly corroborated the reports given by the victims.
He has been charged with child molestation.
