MESA, AZ — A Mesa woman has been arrested for her third extreme DUI in the past three years.

Mesa police report that on May 21 they responded to a crash in a business parking lot near Broadway Road and Country Club Drive.

Witnesses reportedly told police that a vehicle driven by Gloria Cabrera Vargas, 51, made a wide turn while going into the parking lot and struck another car.

The witnesses also said Vargas was swerving in the roadway before entering the parking lot.

Police say they found Vargas asleep in the driver's seat and found five opened beer cans in her vehicle. Vargas' portable breath test revealed a .249 B.A.C.

Court records show that Vargas' license is currently revoked. The documents also say Vargas has two previous extreme DUI investigations in Mesa that are still open.

She is being held without bond for aggravated DUI.
