A Valley man is accused of using Facebook to recruit minor girls into a life of prostitution.
Mesa police report that on September 23, they arrested 21-year-old Cornelius Michael Wells for prostitution and child sex trafficking.
Police say in March, Wells used Facebook to recruit two girls under 16 years old. For six months Wells and another man allegedly drove the girls around the Valley making money off their prostitution calls.
At one point in April, the girls managed to run away but were quickly caught by Wells and his accomplice.
The girls were contacted by police on August 31 and Wells was located and arrested on September 23.
The girls reportedly told police that they would get beat up if they disrespected Wells or didn't give them the money they had earned.
Wells is being held on a $50,000 bond.
