PHOENIX — A man was arrested after carjacking a truck from a worker at a Phoenix car dealership, according to police.

Phoenix police report that on July 11, a lot attendant at Bill Luke Dodge had just parked a truck in the rear lot when 30-year-old Daron Renee Blanche approached him.

Blanche allegedly told the victim he was a fellow employee and needed the keys to the truck. The victim did not recognize Blanche as a co-worker and refused to give him the keys.

That's when Blanche revealed a handgun and demanded the keys again, according to police.

He then reportedly left in a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, speeding away from responding officers.

Unmarked police units and a police helicopter tracked Blanche to 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, where he was subsequently arrested.

Blanche has been charged with vehicle theft and armed robbery.
