A man was arrested in Mesa after threatening passengers on a city bus with a knife.
Mesa Police report that on November 12, a man, later identified as 27-year-old Hasani Silvester Lewis, came "nose to nose" with a woman and her two children, both under 10 years old.
The woman stepped between Lewis and her children to protect them.
Police say when a witness intervened to assist the woman, Lewis pulled out a knife and threatened the witness and other passengers on the bus.
Police shut down Main Street near Mesa Drive until they could detain Lewis.
Upon his arrest, Lewis admitted to the confrontation but denied threatening anyone with the knife.
He has been charged with disorderly conduct and threatening.
