PHOENIX — A drug mule has been arrested at a north Phoenix hotel with $100,000 in meth, according to court paperwork.

According to court records on February 12, Tempe police received a tip that a man would have "a multi-pound quantity of meth" at a north Phoenix hotel. Police executed a search warrant at a hotel room near 16th Street and Northern Avenue.

There they arrested Joseph Gresh, age 57. They also reportedly found 77 pounds of meth packaged for sale. Police say the meth is worth about $100,000. Police also seized nearly $8,000 in cash.

Gresh allegedly told investigators that he was being paid $300 a day to transport meth from Phoenix to New York. He said he had done this at least four other times.

He has been charged with drug possession, conspiracy, and conducting an illegal enterprise.
