Phoenix police say that on March 1 they saw a car driving on Indian School Road near 71st Avenue with a man clinging to the hood. They activated their lights and sirens, but the woman, later identified as 23-year-old Marissa Hurt, sped away with the man still hanging on.

Police say Hurt crashed the car into the front yard of a home in the neighborhood. Police found the man, Hurt's brother, laying in the front yard of the home with severe injuries. Hurt ran away but was soon located, with the help of police dogs, hiding in a backyard of a home in the area.

Hurt allegedly told police that she panicked when she saw the police car and was scared after the crash and ran away.

She also told police that her brother was on the hood of the car because he was trying to prevent her from driving the car because she has a suspended license.

Hurt has been charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault, endangerment and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
