PD: 2 men arrested near Surprise high school with drugs, weapons

SURPRISE, AZ - Two men were arrested after bringing drugs and weapons, including knives and a golf club, near a high school campus in Surprise. 

Surprise police report that on November 14, the school resource officer at Willow Canyon High School received information saying two men were walking near campus, one with a handgun and golf club. 

Police contacted the subjects, David Alexander Altamirano and Tyler Payne, around the school zone near 175th Avenue and Bell Road.  

Police say the two were armed with two large knives and a rubber handgun. 

Police also reportedly found methamphetamine in a syringe in a backpack they were carrying. 

Both men were arrested and charged with drug crimes.
