Two men have been arrested after 12 robberies mostly targeting west Phoenix fast food restaurants.

Phoenix police report that on June 1, they arrested Luis Arizmendi Perez and Richard Anthony Leyva, both 21 years old, after being pursued by officers near 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Police say Leyva and Perez are responsible for 10 of those robberies since April 15. In most cases, they would threaten to harm employees and take the entire cash register.

On June 1, police caught a break when after the robbery of a Subway Sandwich Shop, near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road, a surveillance camera from a neighboring business caught video of the vehicle used by the suspects.

Police located and arrested the suspects after another robbery and pursued the suspects as they threw the cash register out of the truck window.

They have both been charged with burglary.
