Motorcyclist on the run after deadly crash with pedestrian

PHOENIX — Police are looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run Thursday night.

Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department say around 11:00 p.m officers were called to the intersection of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road for a crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian.

A 48-year-old man was found with injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn't been released.

Police believe the pedestrian was crossing against a red light on 27th Avenue when a motorcycle, traveling northbound, collided with him.

The motorcyclist lost control and might have fallen off during the crash. The motorcyclist left the scene of the crash, leaving behind the motorcycle.

Police have not been able to identify the rider.
