A security officer at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station has been arrested for possession of child pornography.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office reports that 32-year-old Ricardo Talamante was taken into custody on 10 counts of sexual exploitation a minor.

MCSO detectives conducted a two-month undercover investigation and reportedly found images and videos of child pornography on a laptop belonging to Talamante.

The videos allegedly showed children, both boys and girls ranging in age from 3 to 12, being sexually abused by adults.

MCSO is concerned that Talamante's position as a security guard at a nuclear power plant made him a possible target for blackmail. Sheriff Joe Arpaio said, "His arrest removes him as a potential security risk."

MCSO says they located Talamante at his home in Buckeye where he was arrested after returning from visiting relatives in Blythe, Calif.
