A man was assaulted after being run over by an SUV in Phoenix.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office reports that on April 4, a man was deliberately run over as he was walking on the sidewalk near 41st and Southern avenues.
Deputies say surveillance video shows the victim walking on the sidewalk before being run over by a white Chevy Tahoe. It also allegedly shows another man running alongside the Tahoe and punching the victim several times after he was run over.
The victim required surgery to repair a broken ankle.
Police tracked the vehicle to 40-year-old Julio Cesar Ruiz, who was arrested two days later.
The other suspect, who has not yet been charged, is a relative of Ruiz, who reportedly told MCSO that they had had an on-going dispute with the victim.
Ruiz has been charged with aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an injury crash.
