Deputies investigating a DUI crash were nearly struck by another DUI driver.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said in the early morning hours of July 1 they were investigating a DUI rollover crash on Interstate 17 near Jomax Road.

As they were talking with one driver, a car came from the dirt shoulder at about 50 miles per hour, forcing deputies to move out of the way.

The vehicle, driven by 45-year-old Fiona Behan, struck the car next to the deputies.

Behan allegedly kept her foot on the gas and was trying to escape after hitting the car, until a deputy reached into the car and pulled the key from the ignition.

MCSO said Behan, who was driving on a suspended license, was arrested and blew a .280 on the breathalyzer.

She has been charged with Aggravated DUI and multiple counts of endangerment.
