Leonardo Ramos-Cruz update: Suspect's blood alcohol level was nearly two times legal limit

Officials have arrested a man involved in a deadly rollover crash in Maricopa County.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s office said 32-year-old Leonardo Ramos-Cruz was faces one count of manslaughter and two counts of endangerment.

According to MCSO, just after midnight on June 19, Cruz’s vehicle went off Horseshoe Dam Road near mile post 3.8. The truck went airborne into a ravine and rolled multiple times.

Three passengers were in the vehicle. Jesus Ochoa-Garcia died from his injuries. Maria Lopez-Espinoza, 53 and Rogelio Ochoa-Garcia, 44, were flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Jesus Ochoa-Garcia was ejected from the vehicle.

The suspect was also flown to the hospital with serious injuries. The hospital's blood lab determined Cruz's Blood-alcohol content to be .146%

The dirt road where the crash occurred has many 'S-curves' and the speed limit is 25 MPH. MCSO says the vehicle's "black box" indicates the truck was traveling at 48 MPH at the time of the crash.
