A Glendale man, who demanded that his wife sleep in a closet, stabbed her when she refused to what he said, according to court records.

Documents show that on May 29, police were called to a home near 55th and Peoria avenues where a woman had been stabbed by her husband.

Police report that 53-year-old Juan Vargas Rodriguez thought his wife was cheating on him after she came home late from work.

He reportedly demanded that she sleep in the closet that night as punishment. When she refused, he allegedly pulled out an 8-inch serrated knife and grabbed the woman by the throat and said," I'm going to kill you." He swung the knife and stabbed her in the arm.

When the woman screamed, another woman came into the room and pulled Rodriguez off of her, allowing his wife to escape.

When questioned by police, Rodriguez reportedly told them that he "kind of blacked out with rage."

Rodriguez is facing an aggravated assault charge.
