This Friday, we're looking for your help to track down a fugitive in our state

Wanted: Garry Steve Fowlkes
Charges: Probation violation for failing to register as a sex offender

Police are on the lookout for a man who did nine months in prison for sexual conduct with a minor, another nine months for failing to register as a sex offender, and has absconded after violating his lifetime probation for failing to register as a sex offender.

Court records show that 38-year-old Garry Steve Fowlkes did nine months in prison from August of 2000 to May 2001 for sexual conduct with a minor. On July 30, 1999, Fowlkes, who was employed at a group home, locked a 15-year-old girl in a room and forcibly sexually assaulted her. He was convicted of this crime in Pima Superior Court.

As a result of this offense, he was put on Intensive Supervised Probation. In 2006 he was convicted of failing to register as a sex offender as he moved his residence with notifying the probation department. He again served nine months in jail, being released in July 2008.

Fowlkes continues to be on Intensive probation supervision and was last seen on October 13, 2016, when he was released from jail on other charges and failed to report to his probation officer upon his release.

Court records show that he is also the lead suspect in a violent crime against women, according to Phoenix Police.

Fowlkes is 38 years old, 5-feet 7-inches tall, 160 pounds. He has tattoos on his right hand and left shoulder.
