Authorities say a man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after his car was seen facing the wrong direction on a freeway access road.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that just after midnight on June 17, traffic cameras saw a white truck facing northbound in the southbound lanes of Price Road, just south of University Drive near Loop 101.

A DPS trooper stopped 40-year-old Adam Vincent Fuentes who reportedly had his eyes closed, with the truck headlights on and the engine running.

DPS says Fuentes was unable to walk without help and allegedly admitted to drinking before driving.

Fuentes' blood-alcohol level was reportedly above .20; the level for extreme DUI.

Fuentes handed officers a Nevada driver's license. A background check allegedly shows Fuentes has three DUI convictions, the latest in 2014.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, he reportedly kicked the trooper during his arrest, and extreme DUI.
