A search warrant has been issued to test for drugs for alleged wrong-way driver, David Matthew Milligan.

According to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson, troopers responded to a car crash on on Februray 10 on Interstate 17south of New River Road. They found a second single-car crash occurred just north of the initial collision.

A DPS trooper spotted 29-year-old David M. Milligan running southbound on the highway before getting into a white SUV and driving away. He was caught after pursuit south on I-17 that ended near Greenway Road.

DPS says they found a bag on the front passenger seat of the vehicle Milligan was initially driving, with a green leafy substance inside.

Although troopers did not smell alcohol on the breath of Milligan, they say, he did display signs of impairment. They have now received a warrant to test Milligan's blood for drugs.

Milligan faces multiple charges in connection with the incident, including aggravated assault, aggravated DUI, unlawful flight from law enforcement and theft of means of transportation.
