An alleged drug dealer uses his 2-year-old daughter as a human shield during his arrest by a DPS SWAT team.

Detectives with the Arizona DPS State Gang Task Force developed information showing Richard and Eric Salazar were dealing drugs in central Phoenix.

Investigators say Richard, 26, and Eric, 29, were selling meth, heroin, cocaine, and Oxycodone.

On Aug. 22, a DPS SWAT team went to an apartment near Van Buren Street and 19th Avenue to arrest the men.

DPS says Eric ran into a back bedroom of the home with his 2-year-old daughter. He reportedly, "held his daughter as a shield as SWAT officers attempted to arrest him."

Investigators say they found other drugs and uncapped syringes in the home accessible to three children under 4 years old. They also allegedly found a loaded AK-47 in the bedroom.

Eric Salazar is being held on a $350,000 cash bond, while Richard is being held on a $250,000 cash bond. Both have been charged with 14 drug-related offenses.
