Chandler police have arrested a man who allegedly provided champagne, a blindfold and $400 for sex with an undercover officer posing as a preteen girl.

Police report that on April 20 they arrested 54-year-old James Douglas Wesson JR. as he met with what he thought was a 12-year-old girl.

Police say an undercover detective had been in contact with Wesson for several days as he offered $400 for 90 minutes of sex with the girl. He reportedly told the officer that he wanted to handcuff the girl to the bed and blindfold her during the acts.

The undercover officer showed up at the location, and Wesson allegedly gave the officer $400 for access to the girl.

Police report inside the location they found condoms, wrist restraints tied to the bed, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a blindfold and various sex toys.

Upon his arrest, Wesson allegedly admitted to his involvement but said, "He was trying to 'save' the 12-year-old."

Wesson has been charged with attempted sexual conduct with a minor and child prostitution.
