A Mesa man is accused of stealing from and damaging his neighbor’s house.

Mesa police report that on March 8, they arrested 27-year-old Nicholas Nathan Covington at his home, near Signal Butte Road and Main Street.

Covington's neighbor is in the process of moving and when she returned to her home she found her packed boxes all opened and the contents were thrown around the house.

There was also damage done to the entire house. The estimated cost to repair the damage was set at nearly $16,000.

She also allegedly found electronics, jewelry and firearms missing.

Police say fingerprints left at the home belonged to Covington.

He is on felony release for car theft out of Pinal County. Police also say Covington has 13 prior arrests for theft.

He's being held without bond on charges of criminal damage and burglary.
