Even while reeling from the effects of Covid-19, small business owners around the nation in May showed signs of increased confidence for the future, according to a new survey by the National Federation of Independent Business.

The NFIB’s Small Business Optimism Index increased by 3.5 points to 94.4, with improvements in eight of the index’s component categories that helped reverse an overall decline in April, at 90.9.
