According to the Crime Index from ADT Security Services and Attom Data Solutions, the East Valley ZIP codes 85268 (Fountain Hills) and 85249 (Chandler) both have total Crime Index scores of 41, making them the safest places in the county.
That score compares very favorably to the national average of 100, making those two areas 59 percent safer than the ADT average.
The Crime Index scores are an average of reported assault, burglary, larceny, murder, motor vehicle theft, personal crime, property crime, rape and robbery.
