Arizona State University and the University of Arizona are highly competitive, but when it comes to best schools in the state, this year it's a tie.
Both ASU and UA ranked at No. 117 on the 2020 U.S. News & World Report ranking of the top U.S. universities.
Also landing in the rankings were Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, each of which were put in an unranked category that identified the universities between No. 293 and No. 381.
GCU officials say they do not take part in the survey because they believe it doesn't measure things important to student learning outcomes.
