SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The development authority behind Wild Horse Pass has selected Scottsdale-based Sunbelt Holdings Inc. to lead a major 10 million-square-foot expansion.

Located at the southwest corner of Interstate 10 and the new Loop 202 freeway, Wild Horse Pass encompasses 3,300 acres of land owned by the Gila River Indian Community near Chandler.

Sunbelt Holdings will lead the master-planned development effort, providing asset management, construction management and marketing services for the master plan, said John Graham, chairman and CEO of the Scottsdale-based real estate development firm.

Total development costs for the expansion will be "in the billions," he said.

While existing structures valued around $500 million were financed by the Gila River Indian Community, the new development will be financed by traditional banks and institutional capital, Graham said.
