Russo and Steele LLC, a Scottsdale-based automobile auction house, has found a new location for its 2020 auction.
From 2017 to 2019, Russo and Steele held three collector car auctions in January at Salt River Fields on Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community land near Scottsdale.
But earlier this summer, Oklahoma-based Leake Auction Co., a subsidiary of high-profile auction business Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc., said it will hold an auto auction in January 2020 at Salt River Fields.
While Salt River Fields legally could end its contract with Russo and Steele, the auction company’s owners allege Leake and Ritchie Bros. used unfair business practices to sway the tribe from continuing business with Russo and Steele.
