John Bridger has passed the reins as executive director of the Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament, to his successor.
The 2020 Phoenix Open held last January was his 18th and final tournament as executive director, as he began the transition of the leadership role to his successor, Chance Cozby, who took over the role effective June 1.
Bridger has been a Thunderbird since 1991.
Cozby was named the new executive director in September 2019 and worked with Bridger during the transition period since Nov. 1.
