Local First Arizona Foundation and Gov. Doug Ducey’s office have partnered to award grants to businesses that were forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The latest round of Arizona Small Business Rent and Mortgage Relief Grants will be worth a total $1.5 million and will be issued to gyms, fitness centers and studios, bars with a series 6 or 7 liquor license, water parks, tubing operators and movie theaters seeking rent relief.

The application process opened Oct. 8 at 2 p.m.

“Small businesses that closed, and continue to take precautions, to help stop the spread of Covid-19 deserve this. Local First Arizona is proud to be a trusted partner in making sure these much-needed funds get to local businesses that need it most. We will look to them making it through to help rebuild the Arizona economy and keep our state vibrant,” said Kimber Lanning, founder of Local First Arizona Foundation, in a statement.
