Kroger Co. continues to ramp up its in-store precautions in response to the coronavirus.

The Cincinnati-based grocery giant is now mandating its employees wear face masks while working, effective Sunday, April 26.

Employees can either wear a company-supplied face mask or bring their own, according to a news release.

"We recognize that some associates, due to medical reasons or other circumstances, may not be able to wear a mask," a Kroger spokeswoman said in a statement. "Such situations will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. We are sourcing face shields to provide to those associates and will also explore other potential options, as needed."
