CVS Health plans to expand coronavirus testing to 1,000 stores by the end of May, the company said.

Larry J. Merlo, the president and CEO of the retail pharmacy giant, said on April 27 that it would offer self-swab tests to individuals in parking lots or at drive-thru windows at CVS locations.

No specific locations or states have been announced, but a spokeswoman said the chain was prioritizing stores with a MinuteClinic.

The retailer counts 1,100 MinuteClinics in 33 states, including 20 scattered around the Phoenix metro.
