Microchip Technology Inc. has implemented a strict travel policy and quarantine procedures for employees returning from coronavirus-affected regions.
While none of the Chandler-based semiconductor manufacturing company’s more than 18,000 employees or family members have tested positive for the coronavirus, Microchip CEO Steve Sanghi said the company is taking steps to limit exposure.
“As we continue to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 virus, our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and their families,” Sanghi said Monday afternoon during a conference call with analysts.
Microchip has mandated no business travel to and from affected regions, including China, Hong Kong, Korea, Italy, Singapore, Iran and Thailand.
