A survey of Arizona nonprofit organizations show that they are already facing losses totaling nearly $30 million due to cancellation of fundraising events and campaigns related to the disruptions caused by the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the survey, conducted by Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, more than 60% of the 364 respondents expressed concern about budgetary implications related to the strained national economy.

In response to those losses, organizations across the Valley are looking for ways to support struggling nonprofits.

Among them is the Alliance for Arizona Nonprofits, which is opening up Arizona Gives Day early next month to facilitate more giving to local nonprofits, said alliance CEO Kristen Merrifield.
