Barrett-Jackson brings in a big haul with online-only auto auction

Scottsdale-based classic car auctioneer Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. brought in $3.79 million in sales and raised $425,000 for charity during its online-only auction this month — setting two world records along the way.

The results of the auction, which closed May 17, were enough for Barrett-Jackson to declare it a success and plan for other online events in the future to augment live events.

The Covid-19 pandemic got in the way of two planned live auctions, one in Palm Beach, Florida, which was postponed from April to October, and another that had been planned for June in Connecticut.

That one was cancelled.
