Before the novel coronavirus pandemic, Arizona was among the top states in the nation for gross domestic product growth, both during the fourth quarter of 2019 and the full year, according to data released Tuesday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Arizona had the third-fastest growing GDP during the fourth quarter, with a 3.3% increase.
The state trailed only Washington and Utah, which both saw a 3.4% increase.
Finance and insurance was the leading growth industry in Arizona, and contributed to 0.59% of the state’s growth during Q4.
